Si's last photo

Si adopted us after we already had Misha, Duffy, Merlin and Sophie although he had been hanging out for some time. We saw him off in the distance for years and never knew he was stray or abandoned. Eventually he got brave and came up to the house where Misha and Duffy and Keith and I would sit on the patio. He decided to live with us and after a couple times trying to keep his fur unmatted from sitting in the garden we made him an indoor cat. We had four wonderful years with Si. What a character. Si was mostly Keith's buddy- just loved him and followed him around like a puppy. He'd sleep on the bed most days and when Keith got home from work he would come out to take his place on Keith's lap. He slept with us nearly every night. Si was probably about 10-12 when he died. We lost him in September 2003 to cancer and I didn't know you could feel such pain losing a pet. But then they are much more than that as you probably know.

IF TEARS COULD BUILD A STAIRWAY
AND MEMORIES A LANE
I'D WALK RIGHT UP TO HEAVEN
AND BRING YOU HOME AGAIN.

Many thanks to the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement
for helping me get through a very painful time
and making new friends.
