Tarots Of The Renaissance - Review

This is an artist's deck by Georgio Trevisan that painted the images using watercolor. The art is nice and, while a couple of the pictures look like Waite-Smith, most are unique. The suits are Pentacles, Chalices, Wands, and Swords and the court comprises of King, Queen, Knight, and Knave. The scenes are pleasantly itemized and the shadings are rich and profound. The Majors have the name at the lower part of the card in English, French, Spanish and German and the Roman Numeral for the card. Equity is VIII and Strength is XI. The Minors are completely represented and few bear any similarity to the Waite-Smith deck. The scenes and ensembles portray the Renaissance period. A portion of the scene is very eccentric, which shows a lady flying over the housetops behind ten gold coins.

There is no booklet with this deck, rather it has additional cards included with guidelines and translations in English, French, Spanish, and German. The scenes portrayed frequently bear little similarity to the translations given. This deck is for collectors or for individuals who like artistic decks.
