The Porch
One of the things that did not get done before the fall weather changed was painting/staining the porch deck. Once I was sure that the deck was dry and the weather wasn't going to change any time soon, the first step was to clean and sand all the unpainted wood... 
...including the steps, which have one corner where water stands. To solve that, I drilled a drain hole in the groove between the boards in the low corner. 
Then I stained all the exposed wood on the porch...
