The Light

the light

This week I finally got up the nerve to hang something on the wall of my new office. The lamp over my old office chair was suspended from the ceiling (not so practical when you have 12' ceilings). The problem has been finding a hanger that I liked. I never did. So finally I got a forged Iron hook in the style I wanted and I painted it to match the copper lamp.

As an added complication, the only copper paint was too "new" looking so, once it was painted, I textured it down with a combination of other colors; pewter, black and dark green (all spray paints). It's a pretty good match.

At some point in the past I also managed to damage either the cord of the switch for the lamp, so I got to rewire it as well, just for fun.

The light and chair became a great, cozy place to sit and relax, so when I reorganized the office, I moved the whole thing, light and chair into the livingroom, where it is still a cozy spot to sit and read.
