The OryCon 20 Daily Newsletter Volume 20, Issue 1, Friday, November 13, 1998

Welcome to OryCon 20!

Dave Langford's Convention Tips: Bored with those long Thursday-afternoon hours waiting for OryCon to begin? Try ordering Vietnamese spicy chicken, breaking a tooth on a water chestnut, and spending an interesting few hours learning all about root-canal work! ("I laughed 'til I cried -- Ansible.) Dave is OK now but has been advised to stay away from crunchy food. Especially water chestnuts.

Want to Be Part of Ms. Bujold's Interview?

Writer GoH Lois McMaster Bujold will be interviewed live on stage Saturday at 7 p.m. Interviewer Mark Bourne thinks that it would be nifty to invite Ms. Bujold's fans to participate in the interview. Therefore, Question Boxes have been set up at Registration and the Office. Simply drop your questions for Ms. Bujold (about her work, her characters, themes, etc.) into the boxes by 5 p.m. Saturday, and Mark will select a few for Saturday night.

Doors at the end of the Universe Hotel

The outside doors at the end of the hallways should not be open for any length of time. This is for security reasons. It also interrupts the air flow. Please remember to take your hotel room key with you if you exit via these doors.

When leaving your hotel rooms, make sure that the doors are securely shut. They tend to stick if you're not careful.
