Light Rail Station (on Baggage Level)

An easy way (and certainly the cheapest way) to travel from Portland International Airport to the hotel is via the "MAX Red Line" light rail line. The airport station is connected to the baggage claim area, on the south side of the terminal.

The train starts running just before 5AM each morning.
The last train leaves the airport at 11:57PM Mon-Sat; 11:37PM Sun.

Purchase your ticket from machines at the station–the cost is $2. You'll need an "AZ" (All Zone) ticket.

Keep your ticket–not only is it your proof of purchase, but the hotel will reimburse you the cost of the ticket when you check in and will give you a free return ticket to the airport.

Board the train, and proceed to the hotel. (All trains from the airport will go to the Convention Center Station, which is across the street from the hotel.)
The trip takes about 26 minutes.

You only need to show the ticket if asked by a fare inspector.

Exit the train at the Convention Center station and walk across the street to the hotel.

Light rail train cars.
The closest car is the old style, requiring you to climb steps.
The car in front of it is the low-floor model, without the steps.
All of the cars used for the runs to & from the airport are the newer, low-floor models.
