He has judgments against him in favour of a number of companies in the UK, USA and Canada, most famously with WalMart. He uses false aliases and false addresses in various non-English-speaking countries to do this. He has a long record as a cyber-squatter. He’s famous amongst the DNS Registrars for it. I actually think it is a very effective and interesting piece of work, which doesn’t quite hold together in the end but still has some powerful and novel moments along the way. There was certainly enough there to whet my appetite, and I’d be interested in anything else he wrote. Almost immediately after my review appeared I got an email from Harvey to thank me. This didn’t bother me, my email address is fairly widely known, and I found it surprisingly and unusually polite. I was a bit more taken aback to find another email from him this weekend, clearly promoting the paperback, but given his earlier message it didn’t surprise me too much. peake NOVEMBER 21, 2005 AT 09:53 I did read and review Harvey’s novel last year, and was fairly complementary. Anonymous DECEMBER 29, 2005 AT 21:01 At least he responds to email I got an email from him today and we’ve exchanged a few emails. It’s kind of fun to get spam from somebody that you can actually reply back to instead of the normal Viagra, etc emails that you know won’t reach anybody when you reply. We’ve replied back and forth a couple times. I’m keeping track of them here. Kenneth J. Harvey Enjoy. In fact, I found out about this site because someone from the Kalbzayn blog posted on my site. Reading his interesting piece, I posted another bit about the letter there. Yeah, it’s seriously cheesy. I’m not on that list above that you mentioned, though, so I have a feeling he’s cobbled it together from several sources. I know another friend of mine, who runs litvision.org, received it as well. reotord DECEMBER 30, 2005 AT 01:22 I received this email too a few weeks ago and posted about it on my LJ and, more in depth, on my lit-blog: http://www.leopoldmcginnis.com.
