| Counseling Philosophy |
| My work is multifaceted. My goal is to create a safe space for
clients to become aware of the many parts of themselves, to accept
themselves, and to learn and practice new skills. We work together to
build self-esteem, improve relationships, and build awareness of strengths
and inner resources. |

| Techniques & Methods |
- I use humor,
acceptance, and humility to build the therapeutic relationship.
- I teach breathing
to help connect with the body, the emotions, and the wise self.
- I use guided
imagery and Ericksonian hypnotherapy to help clients develop
awareness of their own strengths, and to build self-efficacy on a
deep level.
- I use metaphors to
help create natural solutions.
- I use Gestalt to
help clients see and accept different parts of themselves and
others.
- I use concepts
from developmental theory to highlight normal transitions.
- I use cognitive
approaches to help clients retrain their thinking about
themselves.
- I draw on concepts
from Systemic therapy to help clients build and improve their
relationships.
- I use group work
to help clients build self-esteem, develop a support system and
develop coping skills.
- Most of all, I use my humanness and sense of self to help
clients heal and grow.
