St. James Memories

As I get older I seem to reminisce more and more about growing up in St. James. Granted, I was only there for 17 years but the friendships remain. I haven’t been to St. James since 1969 at which time I looked for you but came up short. It’s almost time to retire and settle in to a different way of life. Families have grown, relationships have changed but friendships will always be there.

Thank you Sherril for the grades 5, 6, 7 & 8 class pictures you shared with me this past year. It’s been fun trying to remember everyone’s name.

Clark, how are you?  We finally made contact with one another after 40 years. Thanks to the SJCI 50th Reunion and a note from your sister Wendy. It’s been good exchanging e-mail's these past few months getting caught up on our lives over these past 40 years. I’m looking forward seeing you in June this year.

Dave, how did we find one another? I’m thinking the same way Clark and I hooked up. Yep, through the SJCI 50th Reunion. It’s been good talking with you over the Internet sharing family news and seeing pictures. We’re looking forward to Vanateau in May of 2003.

I’m looking forward to visiting St. James in the next few years and looked forward-looking Fred up. Unfortunately, he passed away recently. I have many fond memories with Fred. Dancing on that “Teen Dance deal” we had over in Polo Park; speeding down the Perimeter Hwy. with Ron’s V-12 auto that went bad; enjoying country music; just doing things with John, Junji and Sam. I’ve never met your boys, I wonder if they look like you.

Gary, you haven’t changed a bit from the picture I have of you at the SJCI Reunion. I’m not sure how you did it—the rest of us want your secret. It’s good touching basis with you once and awhile via the Internet.

Janice, how are you? Actually, I think your doing well. Thanks for the many e-mail's sharing with me how you’re doing and a bit about your family. It’s been fun reminiscing about Madison Street and all the terrific memories we have about growing up.

Greetings Lew. We’ve said hello through Clark. I wonder what you’ve been up to these past 40 years or so. I always thought of you as the electronics engineer type. So, you’re still on Rosebury Street. I know just where to find you when I come visiting.

Clark, Lorne and Lew in younger days. You’re great friends. You know, I wouldn’t change a thing how I grew up in St. James and got to know you guys. Lots of great memories we made.

This picture is found elsewhere in this web site. (okaaaaaaaaay-so what) I like it so much I had to put it in again. Besides, your part of the reason I can look back in time and smile about my growing up years. You made a difference in my life.

Actually, I’m sitting here thinking about the two of you and Kool-Aid came to mind. Thanks for the drink mix you sent me when I was in the Delta.

Once again, “thank you” SJCI 50th Reunion. Sherril, it’s been terrific exchanging e-mails and getting caught up on you, your family and the old neighborhood. There were lots of great times, which made for wonderful memories.

What’s your secret, you haven’t changed a bit?

So, how about a few grade school class pictures. Grade 5, Britannia School in St.James. I wonder what everyone is doing today.

  Grade 6, Britannia School.
