Yep, that's us a few decades ago. Actually, it's our wedding picture. I was just out of the service and Nan just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Memory is failing at times but I think we were married on a weekday morning and went to work the same afternoon. We took this quaisi honeymoon to Canada shortly after the happy occasion. First to Cranbrook, BC where the car promptly decided it needed new rear wheelbearings. Twas a blast getting that fixed, the Canadians didn't have the correct parts so we had to wait for an Oldsmobile dealer in the US to ship them to the shop. Proceeded to Winnipeg and tried to find some old friends - then on to Kenora, Ontario. I'm thinking this was 1968-1969.

Who are we? Well, just for fun I'll give you the low down.
Nan; was born in Oregon City not too long ago. She comes from a long line of pioneers who apparently trekked their way here from the east somewhere and made their homes in the surrounding area. I tease her from time to time saying she has webs between her toes. (Most natives here have webs between their toes - at least I thought so after experiencing the rain we get here.) We first met, and that is another story, not long after I was discharged from the Army. Our first rural home was in Boring. We wound up with four tremendous kids, Kim, Dana, Michael and Brandyn, who you will meet later.
David was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada for 17 years - actually in St. James. Great memories of the place, actually the SJCI 50th Reunion web site, this past year 2001, brought back many wonderful memories. After graduating from high school here I was drafted and spent two years in the Army. Now, there's another story. Lorne came down for a few weeks/months after I received my induction notice and prior to my reporting date we took off and lived in English Bay, Vancouver for awhile. I spent the last year of my military career in a place called Tan Tru, South Vietnam. There's another page in this web site called, "9th Infantry" that includes some of guys I hung around over there. This is enough for now. Monday, April 8, 2002 6:42 PM
