Swimming... bootleg cover

"Swimming With Your Boots On"

by

Darren Holmquist

This is the first "known" bootleg featuring Del Amitri. I read about its existence in ICE, and then it was found by Richard Black at a record show in Glasgow.

Taped copies were soon made available for us to hear, and then Mr. Thome arranged for several of us to receive CD-R recordings of his disc. So, in essesnce, we bootlegged those dastardly bootleggers! It was the least we could do for the Dels!!! Followed by Mr. Lillard's find of a cache of copies at a store near him.

One of the highlights of the disc was found in the liner notes. As read, it says: Del Amitri Info on Internet: http://linex.com.alibee/thedels.html!!!! To say that Alison was excited is putting it mildly!

The source of this concert is the TV broadcast of a concert recorded live at the "Alabamahalle" in Munich, Germany on 12 June 1995.

The sound quality is very good! The only downfall is the fact that they fade out in the middle of "Always The Last To Know". This bothered us quite a bit on first hearing. But, after seeing the accompanying video, we see it is not the fault of the bootleggers, the TV program cut out at that time.

The bootleg also includes 5 acoustic tracks recorded at a radio station in Georgia, USA on 6 October 1995. The final track being "Medicine" recorded on the Johnny Walker session on BBC radio on 5 August 1995.
