Picket Wire soldiers The Picket Wire!

Our mission is to tell the story of the Citizen. Through the power of the Internet we are now able to chronicle the lives of Citizens whose stories might not have otherwise made it to the history books. Books are expensive to publish. The Internet's Press requires only time and energy -- we know that this removal of barriers of communication has the power to change the world -- and change history.

We're glad to be able to communicate with the rest of the world and understand why the keepers of the Tree of the Status Quo shiver with the thought that the common person can communicate globally.

Wisdom Wall IconFeb. 21, 1999 - We have tired of our static site and take pleasure in introducing our changing "graffiti wall" which we call our "Wisdom Wall" After you read what is posted, email us if you have something to contribute.
This just in! Some Comic Relief after Monica-mania in the media frenzy! Let's all have a laugh and forget it!

We encourage you to find out what all that fall-out from "tests" did to all of us. Visit the Downwinders and you'll find out more than you ever wanted to know. Downwinders is a "non-profit foundation dedicated to informing and assisting the victims of radiation and fallout as well as other pro-environment issues." http://www.downwinders.org/

The first Citizen in our midst to have stepped forward tells his story of what it was like to be a soldier in the early days of the Cold War -- 1951 at the Buster-Jangle Series of Atomic Tests at the Nevada Test Site. We invite you to see for yourself -- The Atomic Duty of Pvt. Bill Bires.

Hear ye! Hear ye! Another Citizen comes forward to tell a true story of life in the 20th Century. If you are a "baby boomer" you should visit this site. It will give you a glimpse into the dark history of the Cold War -- 1957, Anno Atomi: Growing Up with the Atom. Be alert ~ you may want your sunglasses!

Now read stories from Atomic Veterans who experienced the front line in the Cold War (1946 to 1962) -- brought to you by the same web author who brought you Bill Bires and Anno Atomi.

We Want to Read Your Story!

Please leave us an email if you have, or know of, a web site that tells the Citizen's Story ~ yeah, that means you! We want to hear about it and "publish" it ~ a link with annotation from the editor ~ right here in The Picket Wire
