| Here's the planned route - the classic TransAmerica Route established in 1976. However, my path through Idaho will be a bit south of this directly through the Sawtooths (Banks, Lowell, Stanley, Challis) and then I plan to end on Virginia's Eastern Shore (my roots) after a ferry ride to Tangier Island: |

The Plan:
Starting June 17th I plan to start pedaling from Florence, Oregon and arrive on the Virginia coast some
six weeks later. The family package (less the dog) will be sagging me with our pop-em-up camper in tow. This is either
a brilliant way to do this or incredibly dumb.
How do you prepare for something like this?
Dunno . . . I've included
the riding I've been up to below . . . we'll see if it's the right fit. Could use some
fast group rides to get some speed in my legs again . . . oh well. More concerned about increasing time elapsed so I can
tolerate 6-8 hours on the bike per day right from the gun.
