A spring skiing paradise. Mount St. Helens is easily spotted from Portland on a clear day, and always looks much bigger than you remember every time you see it. Nothing like standing on the edge of an active volcano and having Discovery Channel and National Geographic flashbacks to the day of the big boom! "Are you sure that the steam coming out of the lava dome doesn't mean anything?!"
