Zoom X3 Routed Bridged Configuration

These configuration instructions will guide you through configuring your Zoom X3 modem to provide access for multiple computers, with the IP address assigned by SpiritOne on the modem.

1. Follow the instructions provided with your Zoom modem to connect your Zoom modem to your computer and DSL line.
   
   Your computer should be configured to obtain an IP address automatically from the modem. If you are using a Macintosh, select Configure Using: DHCP Server.
2. Open a web browser and enter 10.0.0.2 in the Address Bar. You should receive a prompt to enter a username and password, unless you have already changed them. Enter "admin" for the username and "zoomadsl" for the password.

3. At the top of the screen, click on the Advanced icon.

4. Hit the WAN Configuration button.

5. Set the Encapsulation drop-down menu to 1483 Bridged IP LLC.
6. In the VPI box, enter 0.
7. Enter 35 into the VCI box if the modem will be using a Verizon DSL line. If the modem will be using a Qwest DSL line, enter 32 in that box.
8. Enter the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway IP Address provided by SpiritOne's DSL department into their respective boxes.
9. Set the Default Route drop-down menu to Enabled
10. Scroll down to the DNS section of the page.

11. Put the radio button to the right of Use DNS: to Enable.
12. Enter 216.99.193.19 as the Primary DNS Server.
13. Enter 216.99.193.2 as the Secondary DNS Server.
14. Hit the Save Changes button.
15. Then, hit the Write Settings to Flash button.
16. That's it! You should now be able to access the Internet.
