Windows XP Dial-up Configuration

These configuration instructions will guide you through configuring Windows XP to connect to SpiritOne using a modem. These instructions do not include setting up email software for use with SpiritOne. Instructions on configuring your email software for use with SpiritOne can be found here.

1. From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
2. Click the Network and Internet Connections icon.
3. Click on Set up or change your Internet Connection.
4. Click the Setup Button.
5. Click on Next.
6. Select Connect to the Internet and click Next.
7. Select Set up my connection manually and click on Next.
8. Select Connect using a dial-up modem and click Next.
9. In the ISP Name field, type SpiritOne.
10. In the Phone Number field, type the correct phone number for your area code and city, found at the top of this page.
11. Click Next.
12. In the Username field, type your entire SpiritOne or Aracnet email address
    in all lower-case letters.
    
13. In the Password field, type your SpiritOne password.
    
14. Enter your password again in the Confirm password field.
15. Click on Next.
16. If you so desire, you can check the box next to Add a shortcut to this connection on my desktop, but it is not necessary.
17. Now, in the Control Panel, click on Network Connections.
18. Right-Click on the SpiritOne connection and select Properties.
19. Click on the Networking tab.
20. Click on the Settings button.
21. Take the checkmark out of Enable Software Compression and
    Negotiate multi-link for single link connections.
22. Click on OK.
23. Click on OK again.
24. You're Done! To connect to SpiritOne, all you need to do is launch any Internet application.
