Let Us Connect You
Changing Your Dial-up Number
Use these instructions to change the dial-up phone number when connecting to SpiritOne. To find a Nationwide dial-up number where you are, click here.
Operating System
Windows 95/98
- Double click on My Computer.
- Double click on Dial-up Networking.
- Double click on Make New Connection.
- Type in a name for the connection, eg. Travel.
- Click Next, then Enter the dial-up number.
- Click Next then click Finish.
- Right click on the newly created connection, then left click on Create Shortcut.
- Click on Yes when the error message appears.
Close out of Dial-up Networking and My Computer. Double click on the connection on your desktop. Enter your entire email address for the username (e.g. username@spiritone.com ). Click Connect.
Windows Millennium
- Click on Start --> Settings ---> Dial-up Networking.
- Double click on Make New Connection.
- Type in a name for the connection, eg. Travel.
- Click Next, then Enter the dial-up number.
- Click Next, then click Finish.
- Right click on the connection you just created, then left click on Create Shortcut.
- Click on Yes when the error message appears.
Close out of Dial-up Networking and My Computer. Double click on the connection on your desktop. Enter your entire email address for the username (e.g. username@spiritone.com ). Click Connect.
Windows 2000
- Click on Start --> Settings --> Network and Dial up connections.
- Select Make New Connection.
- On the first screen click Next.
- Select Dial Up to the Internet then click Next.
- Select Manually, then click Next.
- Select Phone Line and Modem, then click Next.
- Enter the dial-up number.
- Click Next.
- Enter your entire email address in the Username field, then click Next.
- Choose a name for the connection eg. Travel.
- Click Next, then click Finish.
- Right click on the new connection and select Create Shortcut.
- Click on Yes when the error message appears.
Close out of the Network and Dial-up Connections window. Double click on the connection on your desktop. Enter your entire email address for the username (e.g. username@spiritone.com ). Click Connect.
Windows XP
- Click on Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections.
- Click on Create a New Connection.
- On the first window, click Next.
- Select Connect to the Internet then click Next.
- Select Set up My Connection Manually and click Next.
- Select Connect Using a Dial-up Modem, then click Next.
- Type in Travel (or something similar) for the name, then click Next.
- Enter the dial-up number, then click Next.
- Enter your entire email address for the username (e.g., username@spiritone.com ).
- Enter your password in the password space, then put in your password again in Confirm Password.
- Uncheck the Make This the Default Internet Connection box, then click Next.
- Select Add a Shortcut to this Connection to my Desktop, then click Finish.
Close any open windows. Double click on the shortcut on your desktop to connect.
Macintosh OS 8/9
- From the Apple Menu, go to Control Panels and select Remote Access.
- Change the dial-up number in the Phone Number field.
- Close the window and save the changes.
Macintosh OS X
- From the Apple Menu go to System Preferences.
- Click on Network.
- Click on the PPP tab (if you don't see a PPP tab, where it says show, change that to Internal Modem).
- Change the dial-up number in the Phone Number field.
- Change the username to your entire email address.
- Hit Apply Now then close out of the window.
